This small non fiction book has 16 pages of information the last page has a glossary I suspect this book is out of print in some parts of the country The book has many information about stars including constellations in language that a 2nd or 3rd grader could understandI learned that the name of our star is called The Sun I never thought about it like that before Here is what one page saysHow hot is a star? You can tell how hot a star is by its color A blue star is the hottest A white star is really hot A yellow star is hot A red star is the coolest star I didn't know that beforeThe reason I only gave this book 2 stars is because there is a big error on one of the pages On the next to last page the book says that At night Earth blocks the Sun's light THIS IS WRONG The Earth does NOT block the Sun's light The Sun is a million times bigger than the Earth so how can the Earth block anything from the Sun? The reason we have nighttime is because the Earth has turned away from the Sun The side of the Earth that is facing away from the Sun is having nighttime If it wasn't for this blatant error that could misinform many schoolkids I would have given this book 4 stars As for as a literacy class is concerned reading this book would be an opportunity for children to write about their favorite object eg comet in the solar system They would tell why that object is their favorite they could also draw a picture as well
