Many readers enjoy Star Wars esue stories of conflict on faraway planets while other readers tend to stick to epic romances Few authors have managed to combine the two genres in such a seamless way as Jessica A Kong has in her Sea anan Saga She has created a highly complex story with fully developed characters and the themes explored here are inarguably adult yet the reading level reuired is no than eighth grade A Forgotten Kitten zips along at just the right pace allowing the reader to digest the complexity of the plot and interrelation between the characters without having to think too hard The story revolves around Sev a young handsome prince and member of a royal family who rises to become king of the Oceanan race Sev is raised in the midst of a vicious family feud but all seems worth it when his adoptive aunt gives birth to a beautiful little girl whom Sev falls instantly and irrevocably in love with But when Sev’s planet collides with its own sun and collapses he must bear the loss of his entire family including his love as well as any memory of herAreo the heroine of the story is that little girl that Sev fell for during his childhood She is a human feline hybrid who has grown to hate the royal family that her soul mate hails from She undergoes a destructive event and space travel episode similar to Sev’s and it is not too long before she has settled her new planet and with her fellow half bloods created a strong thriving society When she is brutally attacked by Daehog everyone in her empire is scattered throughout the universe Where does she land but the planet that Sev is currently occupyingWhat follows is a continually building conflict interlaced with one of the most fervently passionate love stories seen in these kinds of novels Kong chooses not just to write about space travel or war or love or family or even racism; instead she chooses to combine all of these classic literary themes into one amazing story The result is a mysterious and ultimately deeply satisfying story that only leads to the craving for from this gifted and astoundingly creative writer Reading should always be enjoyable especially when reading escapist literature and Kong has remembered this and accomplished it without sacrificing plot or characterization The task of any science fiction writer is to take alien unbelievable concepts and present them in a way that convinces the reader they are plausible in reality and Kong has certainly hit the mark with her second novel in this delightfully mystifying series

If only they could see beyond their features beyond their race they would find that we all have similar needs and desires and feel the same emotionsThis well written book is sophisticated and yet simple at the same time The language is clear and articulates well As a reader it was easy to fall back into the ebb and flow of this clever story I love the language and the crisp emotion that is conveyed throughout We are pulled into another world with ease This emotional saga has heart and humanity I read with great anticipation wanting to know what would become of these creaturesThe author creates an entirely new world and does it so naturally She has a great gift of telling a creative story that has not been told before and does it in an entertaining adventurous way I was thoroughly captivated Who knew felines could be this sexy?Sev loved to possess her If he had ever felt happier or at ease than when he was with her he could not recall it Perhaps he would feel differently if he could remember his life before boarding the Emerald Tiger But alas those memories were lost to him For now in his dream lover's arms was where Sev longed to be It was a place he never wanted to leave when the night ended And letting her go each morning was getting harder

Perfect seuelThis is every bit the seuel to Lost Kitten anyone could hope for Jessica Kong delivers in the same vein big epic romance in a space setting that takes me to Farscape and Firefly with a universe as broad as the Star Wars saga I'm not a romance reader at all and did tend to speed up my reading over the romance stuff to tell you the truth Forgotten Kitten is very easy to read which takes real ability from the writer In fact Jessica has grown as a writer since her first book as you would expect and Forgotten Kitten is written with experienced skill evidenced in the story plotting and characters Her Imaginative detail remains as keen as ever I read this on ebook and I was struck with the care in which it was laid out

Although an excellent title calling her book ‘A Forgotten Kitten’ is perhaps a little ironic as Jessica Kong’s second book in her Sea anan chronicles is anything but forgettable and her feline characters are in no way immature In some ways this is a conventional love story depicting the developing relationship of Sev and Areo battling the prejudices of their respective families But the convention is broken as Sev and Areo are Seacats feline warriors battling in space for the survival of their respective races The story is skilfully crafted and well told with liberal and detailed sensual and erotic descriptions A recommended read for followers of either romance or sci fi and a must read for followers of both

I am glad my wife bought this novel and I picked it up and read it Jessica Kong's fans I suspect have been waiting for this book I've also read her previous book A Lost Kitten and just as I gave A Lost Kitten 5 stars this novel deserves 5 stars The book is a fascinating mix of fantasy and sci fi it is well written well structured and what I really enjoyed about it the plot develops on several levels and the characters and events are freuently presented with a casual sense of mystery which makes it hard to put this novel down This is a very enjoyable read which I am happy to recommend to everybody who enjoys reading well plotted stories of this genre

A Forgotten Kitten 2 by Jessica A Kong Wars empires and heroines like you’ve never seen them beforeI read the first novel in the Sea anan Saga A Lost Kitten a few months ago and enjoyed the many universes with alien life forms and fascinating creatures political alliances wars and fights More than anything I enjoyed the original romance at the centre of the book where love conuered all even extreme differences in species and customs I follow the author Jessica A Kong in Goodreads and remember telling her that I was looking forward to reading about the rest of the family of the main character in particular Areo who was not only a woman the empress and ruler of her people but also the best fighter and leader And I must say this novel does not disappointIn A Forgotten Kitten we follow Areo who is rescued from the grip of death by the actions of Sev her soulmate whom she thought lost forever Unfortunately although she recovers fully Sev has lost his memory for most of his past and cannot understand why he feels such affinity with her especially as she is not a pure blood Through this novel we get to learn about the distinct worlds of the Oceanans their politics their enemies but also their laws and prejudices Again at the centre of the novel is another story of love conuering all Both Sev and Areo are trapped between their duties as rulers of their peoples and their true love Their hearts tell them they should be together but tradition and laws conspire to keep them apart If these matters were not complicated enough their romance has as setting a time of political unrest and turmoil where their whole civilisation is at risk I’m not going to discuss the ending of the novel but let’s say there are action scenes and fights that would look fabulous in any movie heroes and heroines with special powers and skills who face terrible fates and fight for freedom magical weapons politics and passion There is also sex in the novel that illustrates the unbreakable bond between Areo and Sev who are made for each other in all aspects The author is skilful in creating wonderful worlds with creatures that are completely alien to us whilst at the same time making their emotions and feelings although epic in scale completely understandable Who would not wish for a love story like Sev and Areo’s in our everyday lives? Thank to the author we can share in the adventures and emotions and hopefully there is much to come yet The deeper I get into the story the I want to know about the background the world and particularly the extraordinary McCalls If you fancy a good love story and a break from your everyday world I recommend you read this book One word of warning if you start reading the saga you’ll have to carry on Don’t say I didn’t tell you

A Forgotten Kitten by Jessica Kong is the futuristic fantasy in another galaxy where human minded cats rule on the planet Oceania Feline and king Sev must maintain traditional ways in order to promote peace He’s both fascinated and troubled with his dream lover; every night when he falls asleep he kisses her During Sev’s waking hours he longs to smell her sweet scent She’s a “different” female whom he must possess He worries when his dream lover is covered with bloodAreo McCloud is a starfighter as are her siblings Thrust into hostilities only she and three brothers out of seven hundred are alive but she is bleeding Praying to her god Onssa she bores up to the pain and dodges enemy fire It isn’t long before she’s lost Areo will be forgotten when her hybrid species of mixed cat and human disappears Areo sends out a mayday callFearing for his sanity Sev stresses over the troubled image of his dream lover Rushing into his castle weapons room he employs the magical Sword of Power Her ship drifts into Oceania’s atmosphere After his rescue ship locks with hers he uses the Sword of Power to help her heal Area in a month long coma possesses no feline features In love with Areo Sev finds himself torn between two loyalties Embroiled in a family feud he’s always believed a king should maintain the pure blood line? Areo is special With the help of Goddess Onssa she wants to facilitate communication and pave the way for peace Not only that Sev met her when they were children According to his adoptive aunt Areo is a human hybrid who fears Sev’s royal family Will these star crossed lovers ever meet halfway?Fantasy author Jessica Kong’s heroine is a peacemaker I highly recommend A Forgotten Kitten to fans of Star Wars and Avatar Sensual feelings between Sev and Areo make this book new adult rather than young adult

A riveting read from start to finishJessica Kong has created a magical story uniuely combining the genres of the romance novel and the science fiction novel This combination creates a synergy of story telling power that mesmerizes from start to finish I found this novel hard to put down and in fact finished the 290 pages in two daysThe magical romance between Sev and Areo reads like any great love story It is a relationship of destiny meant to be in spite of all the obstacles As Jessica Kong says about her writing – it is “Proof that true love conuers all”The magic is the love mixture in the context of a royal family where bitter family rivalries seem ready to doom the relationship of Prince Sev and heroine Areo As they both battle the prejudices of their respective families to maintain their passionate love one thinks of Romeo and Juliet and the deadly antagonism of their families Add to this rich mixture the fact that Areo is a “human feline hybrid In fact Sev and Areo are “Seacats” – both feline warriors battling for the survival of their respective racesThen there is the villainy of the evil “Daehog” and the incredible interlocking themes of war politics religion raceinterspecies relationships and space travel Bottom line “A Forgotten Kitten” is plain old good STORYTELLING It is about how Love transcends memory and the HUMAN HEART is FOREVERI can almost hear Celine Dion singing these lines from the great song in the movie “Titanic” – “My Heart Will Go On”Love can touch us one time And last for a lifetime And never let go 'til We’re goneRaymond Keen – author of “Love Poems for Cannibals”

Since I'm not an avid fantasy reader I wondered if the author would be able to suspend my disbelief She did so in a very skillful alluring and seductive manner I have been owned by two felines for eighteen years If humans could have evolved from monkeys or apes they certainly could have evolved from felines The reason they didn't was because cats couldn't be bothered They liked being adored and worshiped just as they wereA strong love affair develops between two beings of feline descent The problem is that Sev is a male Seacat a pureblood of royal lineage; Areo is female part human thus a half blood a lesser creature Will these two be able to share the undeniable love between them or will tradition and royal responsibility forever keep them apart? I won't give that away but the emotional turmoil is explosive sensuous and addictive I couldn't wait to find out whether or not these star crossed lovers would find a way to share their livesDid I mention there is a war going on? The hero and heroine are also Starship pilots defending their civilization from the alien Daehogs This is a white knuckle adventure of epic proportions and an epic romance They are seamlessly interwoven into a page turning book I couldn't put down Thank you Jessica Kong for such an amazing read I recommend this to all lovers of books

Loved getting the chance to dive a little deeper into this world that Jessica Kong has created Read this immediately after I read a lost kitten and like that novel I wasn't disappointed Found myself truly feeling connect to the storyline between Areo and Sev It was again just an original story created in a world that astounds and intrigues you throughout the entire journey I'm a sucker for a strong female lead and Areo didn't disappoint Again like I said in Lost kitten I'm not usually a sci fi fan but this series really has me thinking twice about that I'm glad I gave it the chance as it didn't disappoint Fingers crossed that we'll get to see of this world in the near future
